Edit through the portal
Your DPIIT recognition is tied to your Startup India profile, so updates are made by logging in and editing the profile — contact details, registered address, directors/partners, and business description. The recognition certificate reflects the underlying entity data, so keeping the profile current keeps the certificate accurate.
Entity changes and corrections
If the entity itself changes — a name change, or conversion from LLP to company — you update the incorporation details (CIN/LLPIN, PAN) on the portal so recognition continues to map to the right entity. Mistakes in the original application (a typo, wrong date) are similarly corrected by editing the profile. Major changes may need supporting documents — confirm.
A worked example
Example: a startup that changed its name updates the new name and fresh certificate of incorporation on the Startup India portal, so its DPIIT recognition reflects the current entity — important before it applies for 80-IAC or shows the certificate to investors. Stale DPIIT details can cause mismatches in later applications. Our team can keep your Startup India profile in order.
