What is the QRMP scheme?

Short answerQRMP (Quarterly Return, Monthly Payment) lets a small taxpayer with turnover up to ₹5 crore file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B quarterly instead of monthly, while paying tax monthly by a simple challan (PMT-06). It cuts the filing workload, with an optional facility to upload B2B invoices monthly.

How QRMP works

Under QRMP, eligible taxpayers (turnover up to ₹5 crore) file their GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B quarterly — four times a year instead of twelve — but still pay tax monthly through a challan (PMT-06) for the first two months of each quarter, using a fixed or self-assessed amount.

The IFF option

To avoid holding up your B2B customers’ ITC for a whole quarter, QRMP offers the Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF) — you can upload B2B invoices in the first two months so the credit flows to buyers sooner. It is optional but useful if you sell to other businesses. Confirm the current QRMP rules and limits.

A worked example

Example: a trader with ₹3 crore turnover opts into QRMP — filing returns four times a year, paying a monthly challan in between. If most customers are businesses, the trader uses IFF monthly so their ITC isn’t delayed; a B2C-heavy trader skips IFF. The result is much less filing without delaying anyone’s credit. Our team can set up and run QRMP for you.
