How do I register my startup with DPIIT?

Short answerYou apply for DPIIT recognition online on the Startup India portal, and there’s no government fee. You need your certificate of incorporation, a short note on what makes your business innovative or scalable, and basic company details. Recognition usually comes through in a few days to a couple of weeks.

What you need

  • Certificate of incorporation and company PAN
  • Director/partner details
  • A short description of how your product, service or model is innovative or scalable
  • Website, app or pitch deck — optional but helpful

The steps

Create an account on the Startup India portal, fill the recognition form, attach your incorporation certificate, self-certify the declarations, and submit. On approval you get a DPIIT recognition certificate. Our startup compliance service can prepare and file it for you.
